ASUS ZenWatch 2
In my household each person manages different departments. For example my Husband is Minister of Finance and I am Minister of Fashion, obviously lol. My Son is Minister of Rubbish Removal and my Daughter, well lets just say if I can get her to keep her room tidy then I could give Peta Credlin a run for her money. One thing my Husband does really well is manage our electronic department. Yes this does mean we have way too many TV's but he has always acquired me quality laptops that endure. My current laptop is an ASUS, pronounced "A-seuss"(bet you said "Ay-sus")! Pronunciation aside ASUS are a computer company best known for their quality electronics and like so many companies that have the innovation and technology to expand into the wearable tech market have delved into smart watch land. Where tech companies usually come up short with their smart watches is in the style department. A smart watch can feature superior technology but if it lacks asthetics it will never make it to the consumers wrist. Have ASUS got what it takes to meld style and innovation?
I think they come pretty close. The 1.45" size which I trialled was not little, however compared to most smart watches it is actually fairly minimal and definitely not overpowering or too chunky that it would be annoying or uncomfortable for everyday wear. As it does not have a heart rate monitor it is reasonably flat compared to many on the market. It also comes in a larger 1.63” for guys and features either a durable silver stainless steel or gunmetal case . I like that it still has a crown which lets you interact with the watch but gives the feeling of a timepiece rather than a fitness tracker. It features super tough Corning® Gorilla® Glass and five different strap colour combinations including rubber, leather and stainless steel in a variety of colours so there are options for both a sporty and suave look.
This is the second generation of the ASUS ZenWatch with plenty of features to keep you amused. Powered by Android Wear it is compatible with any Android smartphone running 4.3 or higher and any iPhone running iOS 8.2 or higher. If you have an iPhone you can use any of the features on the Android Wear App but you will not have access to the specific Apps built for this watch including the ASUS ZenWatch Manager, FaceDesigner, ZenWatch Wellness, ZenWatch Music, ZenWatch Remote Camera, Remote Link, and more. If you have an Android phone then this watch is a winner for you as these apps are cool. They feature a business helper which manages your call log, agenda, email etc. There is also a remote camera for the selfie addicted and a quick setting function for notifications, theatre mode and more. The cover to mute feature is cool, you place your hand over the face to stop the ringtone from playing. Find my phone, unlock my phone and forgot my phone are also all there primarily made for people like me and you can activate your Google assistance through the Android Wear app. You will have to charge it most likely every day but you can pick settings to lower your battery consumption and it will take a couple of charges to get the battery to hold it's full charge. If you are an Android lover then this is a stylish companion for you to manage your world.
