As a retail staff member you will often be asked by customers for an automatic watch. An automatic watch which may also be referred to as mechanical, skeleton or self winding is a watch where motion or the winding of a spring provides the energy to run the watch. Most automatic watches will state that it is automatic either on the face or back of the watch. You will also find that an automatic watch often has an aperture which is a section of the watch through which you can see the movement, I love this on a watch it's a special detail that adds an extra element of seeing the working movement on the automatic watch. On the cheaper end of the automatic scale most pieces will not have a power reserve. This means that when you take the watch off at night it will more than likely stop and you will either have to shake it or wind it to get it started the next day, don't forget to reset the time. More expensive pieces may have a power reserve which means they may operate for 24-48 hours without being worn.
Watches these days seem to have to do more than look pretty and tell the time. Fashion super power Gucci have launched The GUCCI SYNC collection which is aimed at a connected, young music-loving audience. Unique in its style, this timepiece perfectly blends a contemporary flair to the most traditional Gucci icons. By bringing together music and online outlets, GUCCI SYNC symbolises the synergy with the digital world: an effective way for Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry to connect with its younger communities. The GUCCI SYNC watch has been selected to support CHIME FOR CHANGE, the recently launched campaign for women’s and girls’ empowerment founded by Gucci. Beyoncé and Salma Hayek are co-founders of this amazing cause whose aim is to education, health and justice for girls and women.
