Thomas Earnshaw the flagship English Heritage brand has created a collection of mechanical timepieces in stunning and intricate detail attributed to natural history artist Ferdinand Bauer (1760-1826). Aboard the HMS Investigator his precise works of botany and nature were almost photo realistic in their accuracy and achieved great acclaim in the study of Australia. The Bauer ES-8049 collection features fluid round cases with an exhibition caseback. The slimmest frame marks out the minutes exposing the complex and beautifully machined individual parts. Featuring an Italian leather strap this is truly the timepiece for the connoisseur of horology.
I love it when a watch brand has heart. So often the fast cars, style icons and sports stars rule the watch world and all the influence that could go to good goes to smug insta shots and epic parties. I have always been impressed with a brand I call FRED. FERDERIQUE CONSTANT have had a philanthropic philosophy for years, not because it was trendy or cool, and not because they wanted the PR (though it helps) but because they actually care. Since 2004, Frederique Constant they have engaged in supporting causes, with $50 donated for each watch sold from the Ladies Collection to various charities. These charities include those related to the heart, children and women. On March the 1st and highlighted at Baselworld Gwyneth Paltrow has become the new global Charity Ambassadress of FRED. She has come on board to promote an amazing educational project "DonorsChoose" who are involved in supporting education for children.
Founded in 2000, DonorsChoose.org makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Teachers at 70% of all the public schools in America have created project requests, and more than 2 million people have donated $398 million to projects that inspire them. Over 17,000,000 students—most from low-income communities, and many in disaster-stricken areas—have received books, art supplies, field trips, technology, and other resources that they need to learn.
“I am very proud to be Ambassador of the FREDERIQUE CONSTANT Charity campaign. I think FREDERIQUE CONSTANT is a wonderful company and we are well aligned in our passion for Charity and giving back. It’s amazing to be able to work with a company with a strong value system,” said GWYNETH PALTROW.
ALETTA STAS, Board Executive and co-founder of FREDERIQUE CONSTANT said: “We are very happy and honoured to have GWYNETH PALTROW as our new Charity ambassador. Thanks to her and to our brand’s engagement, we will be able to improve the lives of many children. By purchasing one of the latest models of our Ladies collection, our consumers will not only feel the joy of having a beautiful timepiece on their wrist; they will also help people who need it the most.”

It's watch week in Switzerland but here in Australian it's crazy for a totally different reason, it's the fastest week of the year, Formula One week. We are all really familiar with the big names in Racing Watches e.g Tag, Bell & Ross, Rolex and Hublot but today I am going to introduce you to LAPIZTA a brand as passionate about racing as they are about their watches.
Born in the USA by racing loving third generation watchmakers their love for not only racing but extreme sports and passionate lifestyles is reflected in their modern sports collections. When I say passionate I'm not just being nice these guys are hard core adrenaline junkies and they have taken this fierce energy and created a collection that embodies the extreme. They are still a family owned business which always grabs my attention as it means they are not controlled by anything but free to run wild in their creations.
Featuring multifunctional chronographs, high grade stainless steel cases, screw down crowns and racing inspired details they are not only quality timepieces but sophisticated in design. Reinforced mineral crystal glass with sapphire coating is a standard thought their collections as is the 10ATM water resistancy as a minimum, with some pieces reaching 30ATM. Precision quality is displayed in their choice of either Miyota Quartz or Swiss Ronda movements while the carbon dials, feature tyre tread straps and pops of colour show style and creative edge.
The watches are divided into four primary lines of designs :Moto racing , Diving, Aviation and Ladies where each intricate design draws upon elements from the respective line. Starting from just $330 USD in the Men's collection and $295 USD in Women's these are an affordable timepiece for anyone who has a passion for living life in the fast lane. Visit http://lapizta.com/ for all the details or you can contact LAPIZTA directly in Australian for your closet stockist on 02 8244 6444 or email@example.com
